Why the range is deliberately small

Most phone shops carry a wall of accessories because a wall of accessories sells. The trouble is that the wall is mostly filler — a hundred cases nobody chose, in colours nobody wanted, at whatever margin the box-shifter was offering that month. You end up picking the least-bad option rather than a good one.

We'd rather carry twenty things we can stand behind than two hundred we can't. If something is on the shelf here, one of us has used it, and we'd fit it to our own phone without thinking about it. When it stops being good, it comes off the shelf.

The cables are the ones we actually care about

This is the part that isn't marketing. We repair charging ports every week, and a meaningful share of them were killed by something cheap on the other end of the cable — a connector moulded slightly out of tolerance, a lead that frays where it meets the plug, a bargain-bin plug with no business near a phone. By the time it reaches our bench it is a charging port repair rather than a £12 cable.

So the cables and plugs we sell are the ones we've watched survive. That's not a claim about brands, it's a claim about what we see on the bench, and it is the single most useful thing we can tell you about an accessory.

Ask us before you buy

If you're not sure what suits your phone or how you use it, say so. A chunky case is the right answer for a phone that lives on a building site and the wrong one for a phone that lives in a jacket pocket, and we'd rather tell you that than sell you the dearer one. If we don't have the right thing, we'll say so and point you elsewhere.
