Repairs in and around Wellington
Wellington is just over the border in Somerset, on junction 26 of the M5 — close enough that we treat it as part of our regular patch rather than an outlier, and one of the few places where our nearest workshop is probably closer than you’d assume.
Wellington has around 15,000 residents, and is known for giving its name to the Duke of Wellington, who took his title from the town in 1809. The Wellington Monument above it on the Blackdown Hills is the tallest three-sided obelisk in the world. Fox Brothers wove cloth here for generations and supplied the army with puttees.
It’s over the Somerset border but only fourteen miles from the workshop, most of it motorway — closer, in practice, than plenty of places inside Devon.
Up at the Monument
The Wellington Monument on the Blackdown Hills is exactly the sort of place a phone gets dropped — you’re out with the dog, it’s in a coat pocket, and it meets the path. It’s also a long way from anywhere with a repair counter, which is the point of a call-out: we come to you rather than you spending an afternoon driving to find someone.

Signal up on the hills is thin, and people often assume a phone that won’t connect has developed a fault. Usually it hasn’t. But if it’s stopped holding charge on a cold walk, or the charging port has stopped taking a cable properly, those are both quick fixes and both things we can do at your door.

If we can’t fix it at your door
Most phone and tablet work is done on the spot. Every repair is carried out in the van itself — it is a proper mobile workshop, carrying the same tools, parts and bench kit we use at Tiverton, in controlled conditions rather than on someone’s worktop. But some jobs genuinely need the workshop: a liquid-damaged board that has to be stripped and ultrasonically cleaned, or a screen we don’t have with us for an unusual model. When that happens we take the device back to Tiverton, do the work properly, and bring it back to you when it’s finished — and you still only pay one call-out fee, not two. You are never charged twice because a repair turned out to be more involved than it looked.
